In the original Japanese version of Street Fighter II, Balrog, was initially named M. Bison, a nod to Mike Tyson. To avoid legal issues internationally, Capcom renamed him Balrog instead. Hence, the “M”, and in Japanese, “Bison” sounds similar to “Tyson.
