Hey there, I’m David! Born in 1980 — the mighty Year of the Monkey — I’ve pretty much been a gamer for as long as I can remember.
I was born in Hong Kong to a Taiwanese mum and a Hong Kong dad, then moved to Melbourne in ’88 as an innocent eight-year-old who genuinely thought he was the next big gaming prodigy. At the very least, I could smash Popeye and Super Mario on the Famicom, and hey… that totally counted back then. 🤔

My retro obsession kicked off with the Famicom in the mid '80s, then levelled up hard with the Super Famicom. When Street Fighter II dropped in ’92, I was in grade 6 and my house basically turned into the local arcade den. Friends I didn’t even know I had suddenly started rocking up at my front door — and yes, I still regret not charging credits.
Fast-forward to today and not much has changed. I’m still gaming, still collecting, and still chasing that sweet hit of nostalgia. Retro gaming isn’t just a hobby — it’s a lifestyle.
These days, that passion has evolved into a side hustle. I import and refurbish Sony PVMs and BVMs, work closely with professional electronics techs, and create new gear for these legendary monitors. Think custom BKM-129X input cards with Raspberry Pi built in, RGB SCART and RCA mod kits, and plenty more fun stuff brewing behind the scenes.
Oh — and yes… I built this website myself.
Every. Single. Pixel.

I’ve also started a Facebook group called “Aussie Sony PVM.” If you’re into that sort of thing, feel free to join! It’s an Australia-based group focused on building a local community for retro gamers and CRT/PVM enthusiasts down under — but all are welcome!!!
The goal is to create a space where we can share information, learn from veterans in the field, and buy, sell, or trade gear locally. I also want to bring more retro accessories for the Australian market, so we don’t have to rely on overseas sellers or pay crazy shipping fees and marked-up prices.
Thanks for stopping by — let’s keep retro gaming alive, one CRT at a time.

About Me
I live with my amazing wife and three lovely children in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
I hustle during the day, and I dedicate all my time to family in the evenings.
Gaming has always been my passion, but finding time for it these days is a challenge.
I enjoy playing modern games just as much as retro. It's like coffee and wine: both are unique and enjoyable.
I can understand and speak four languages.
