Bring true RGB quality to your CRT with this all-in-one 3-input RGB mod kit, designed for retro consoles, arcade hardware, and professional video monitors.
This kit provides RGBS via RCA, Euro SCART, and 15kHz VGA input in a single, clean solution — giving you maximum flexibility while preserving signal integrity and CRT safety.
This kit is designed specifically for Sony PVM-9L1, 14N5, 14L1, 20N5 and 20L1 monitors — but it also works on most consumer CRT TVs made before the year 2000, just like the other RGB mod kits in our store. It supports RGBS signals from home consoles, arcade boards, and other low-resolution sources, delivering excellent image quality.
When the console is powered on, the monitor automatically switches into RGB mode; when powered off, it reverts back to normal composite operation.
The SCART female connector is a premium Foxconn-made socket — Foxconn is a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer known for supplying parts for Apple iPhones. Its gold-plated contacts ensure excellent signal transmission and durability, far superior to generic SCART connectors and safe for your SCART cables.
🔧 Key Features
3-in-1 RGB Input Support
RGBS via RCA (Lotus) connectors
Euro SCART input (gold-plated)
15kHz VGA input (low-resolution only)
True 15kHz RGB — NOT an upscaler VGA input is strictly 15kHz and intended as a convenient RGB input option, not a resolution converter.
High-Quality Signal Control
Independent RGB gain potentiometers for precise colour adjustment
Dedicated brightness control potentiometer
Built-in sync conditioning for a stable image
Premium Components
Original Foxconn (Taiwan) gold-plated SCART socket for reliable contact and long lifespan
High-precision imported adjustable resistors for smooth, linear tuning
Dedicated HV mixing circuit on VGA input to protect CRT circuitry
Clean & Reversible Design
Built-in RGB bypass switch allows the mod to be disabled when not in use
Original TV protection circuits and functions remain intact
No external power supply required — draws power directly from the TV mainboard
Professional Finish
Matte acrylic mounting panel
Pre-wired harness included
Compact, tidy installation
Compatibility
Works with Sony PVMs (Specifically designed for the PVM 14L1, 14N5, 20L1 and 20N5 models, no jungle IC replacement needed)
Works with most consumer CRT TVs made before 2000
Not suitable for CRTs made after 2000 with integrated “super ICs”
JVC, Panasonic, and some other brands may require chip replacement or special handling
9 solder points must be connected to the TV mainboard
Intermediate to advanced skill level recommended
📌 If you are not confident with soldering or CRT safety procedures, professional installation is strongly advised. Improper installation may result in damage to your TV or personal injury.
Important Notes
The kit is not a scaler. It only enables direct RGB input (15kHz), not upscaling to higher resolutions.
Picture adjustments (H-Pos, geometry) may require using your TV’s built-in service menu.
Each unit is professionally built by experienced experts in the RGB modding field.
The kit comes pre-assembled and ready to install — no extra building required.
Requires basic soldering skills

If you want to unlock the true potential of your CRT, this RGB mod-kit is the perfect solution. With high-quality components, simple installation, and compatibility with most pre-2000 TVs and PVMs, it’s the best way to future-proof your retro gaming setup.
Please read the full description below to ensure your CRT is compatible for RGB modding before placing an order. Refunds are only provided for faulty kits — change of mind returns are not accepted.
Most CRTs from the 1980s and 1990s were designed with separate chips inside:
A CPU/microcontroller (for menus, remote functions, tuning, etc.)
A video decoder (jungle chip), which handles composite video, luma, chroma, and sync.
Because the jungle chip is independent, this kit allows you to inject a clean RGBS signal directly into it, unlocking razor-sharp picture quality that composite and S-Video simply can’t deliver.
However, by the year 2000, many manufacturers started using “super ICs,” where the CPU and video decoder were combined into a single chip. These newer sets cannot be modded with this kit. That’s why this mod is designed only for CRTs made before 2000.
Rule of Thumb:
Two separate chips (CPU + jungle) = Moddable ✅
One super IC = Not moddable ❌
If you’re unsure, check your TV’s service manual or open the back and look at the board.
